Obituary

Deanna Alexandria Jones Scott departed this life suddenly on May 3, 2022, at Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge, MA.

Deanna Alexandria Jones Scott was born on October 7, 1989, to Darrin C. Jones (Jawanza Amennun) and Minister Regina Snipes Jones in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Deanna was taught by her parents to live a victorious life dedicated to living and with the Lord. Deanna gave her life to Christ and was baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of her sins. She joined the Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Jacksonville, NC. The family relocated to Raleigh, NC. There she became a member of Restoration Community Church which was later renamed to Life Worship Center, under the Pastorate and leadership of Pastor James and Co-Pastor Ursula Rowland. Deanna was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Brandon Lee Scott, from this union a child was born.

Deanna was educated in the Onslow County Public School System and furthered her academic education at Allen University in Columbia, SC. She was employed by Wells Fargo Bank, Inc. until her health began to fail. Deanna's hobbies included singing, cooking, sports, making music, drawing, and engaging activities with her son.

Deanna was preceded in death by two of her children, King-Malakahi Jones and Chole Gina Jones; brother, Asher Amennun; father-in-law, Tommie Scott Jr., grandmother, Reverend Catherine Snipes Washington; paternal grandparents, Bishop Hubert Jones and Freddie Mae Jones; grandparents, Marion P. Hand and Reverend Frances Jones.

Commemorating her fond memories are: her husband, Brandon Lee Scott of Burgaw, NC; her son, Xzayvier Zayvon Scott of North Charleston, SC; her mother, Minister Regina S. Jones of North Charleston, SC; father, Darrin C. Jones (Jawanza Amennun) of Orangeburg, SC; her sister, Dionne Christine Jones of Atlanta, GA; brother, Shespen Amennun of Paterson, NJ; mother-in-law, Mary Scott of Burgaw, NC; sisters-in-law, Camellia Scott and Charmaine Scott of Burgaw, NC; and grandfather, Roy Hand of Burgaw, NC.

Deanna also leaves to cherish her memory: uncle, Reverend Dr. R. Bernardo (Antoinette) Snipes of Manassas, VA; aunts, Jacqueline Owens of Orangeburg, SC, Janice Bradley (Joe Sr.) of Pineville, SC, Evangelist Janette Holemon McKenney (Alexander) of St. Louis, MO, Tawanda Tolliver-McHenry (James) and Albertha Myers of Charleston, SC, Teresa M. Grant (Keith) of Raleigh, NC; Godparents, Prophets Mahalia Lawrence (Bishop Greg); best friend, Aliyah Pringle; Godchildren, Khole and Ariel Pringle; Godsisters, Keyojunna Vann and Justina Campbell; a host of other close relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, May 13, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Face masks are required. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Grace Reformed Episcopal Church, 401 Stoney Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery, 1010 Cooper Store Road, Moncks Corner, SC.
