Psalm 149:1 Dennis Lane, a son of Maggie President Lane and the late Otis Lane, was born on May 4, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Moncks Corner, SC. Dennis attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley High School in 1981. Dennis was a member of The Ministries of Truth Tabernacle, Cordesville, SC. He was employed with the Berkeley County School District for many years and served as the Warehouse Manager for the Food Services Division. He was a member of Moncks Corner Lodge No. 323, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall Affiliated. Dennis positively touched the lives of many, especially through his singing and cooking. He will be remembered for his warm hospitality towards others. He expressed this love through his "down home" cooking. He had a unique way of bringing joy into people's lives by lighting up any room he entered with his contagious smile and laugh. He will be greatly missed. Dennis was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter (Bubba) President, Robert Lee Lane, Otis Lane, Jr. and Matthew Lane. Those left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Mary Lane of Moncks Corner, SC; his mother, Maggie Lane of Moncks Corner, SC; his children: Terry Chavis (Takeila) of Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX, Astrea Lane (Marlon Mills) of Jacksonville, FL, Ebony Lane of Landrum, SC, Jerrell Chavis and Ronnell Chavis both of Moncks Corner, SC and Donnell Chavis of Morgansfield, KY; nine grandchildren, Unique, Jamaari, Jatorian, D'Nasia, Adrien, Emani, Johndayus, Jr., Imunique and Demarcus; two brothers, Kenneth Lane (Maryanne) of Summerville, SC and Andrew Lane of Moncks Corner, SC; one sister, Carrie Heyward of Brooklyn, NY; father and mother-in-law, Vernon & Ethea Richardson of Ladson, SC; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Holmes of Summerville, SC and Cynthia Ramsey of Ladson, SC; special best friends, Jake and Anita Perry; a special niece, Brenda Morgan; a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
