Derrick Walker, the son of Diane Walker and the later Alvin Walker, Sr., was born on November 8, 1981 in Charleston, SC. He departed this life on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at MUSC. Derrick was educated in the Berkeley County School System graduating from Stratford High School in 2000. He loved gardening, grilling, and cooking. He also loved watching football and his favorite team the Kansas City Chiefs!

Derrick was a hard worker loved working construction. He displayed his talent and dedication to several employers including Robert O. Collins, Landmark Construction, and Sanders Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia Walker; father, Alvin Walker, Sr.; his brother, Alvin Walker, Jr.; three uncles; Archie Walker, Jr., Earnell Walker, Arthur Rivers; two aunts; Frances Lawrence and Priscilla Newsome; paternal grandparents; Arche and Albertha Walker; maternal grandmother; Addie B. Perry; maternal grandfather; William Perry; maternal great-grandparents Otha and Lena Walker; and maternal great-grandparents; David and Regina Perry.

Derrick leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted mother, Diane Walker; loving children, Natalia Walker, Kendrick Walker, and Emery Walker; three siblings, Lataurus Walker (Layveleta), Donnell Walker (Rudenia), and Ronnell Walker (Tina); god sister, Ne'Na Davis Matthews; his aunts and uncles, Leslie Mae Hunt (David), Lorie Smith, Connie Perry, Cornelius Perry, Marilyn Walker, Richard Walker (Jean), Brenda Bloom (Alan), Cathy Hampton (Willie), Darlene Walker, Donnaver Walker, Deloris Walker, Dorothy Walker, Carolyn Walker, Dorothy Ann Rivers and Roiley Rivers (Loetta); brother-in-law; Christopher Mcelfresh; special cousin, Drucilla "Moochie" Perry, special "grandma" Carol Wise; a special friend, Evette Brown; five grandaunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Messiah Church of Deliverance, 1198 Starline Drive, Summerville, SC. Burial will be in Sheep Island Community Cemetery.
