On this occasion of Dorothy Brown's celebration of life, we take comfort: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2). On May 6, 1933 in Huger, South Carolina, the home of Mack and Martha Brown was blessed with the birth of a daughter, Dorothy Brown. On Monday, February 20, 2012, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, she was called to eternal rest. Dorothy received her education in the Public School System of Huger, South Carolina. She was an active member of Charity A.M.E. Church. Dorothy served on the Senior Choir and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Dorothy was a joy to her family and a delight to her friends. She will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Jerome Anthony Brown and his beloved wife Robin; seven grandchildren, DeMaria Myers, Marthia Smalls (Derran), Jerome Brown Jr., Shaquille Brown, Mijel Brown, Derel Matthews (Natalie) and Jerel Matthews (Karolyne); seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Brown; one sister, Ernestine B. White; an a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
