Earma Lee Copeland, the daughter of Joseph President and Dorothy Poinsette President and granddaughter of the late Virginia Washington, was born on June 29, 1955 in Bonneau, South Carolina. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC. She attended the public schools of Berkeley County. Earma, or "Earm", as she was affectionately known as, attended Grace Reformed Episcopal Church at an early age. She later became a member of Christianity Holiness Church, Moncks Corner, SC where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Melvin Copeland, Jr. This union was blessed with four children. Earma worked many years for the Berkeley County School District, starting out as a Bus Driver and finishing in Food Services. Earm loved her family and was always there to give valued advice and often telling the truth with her famous phrase, "Man gone on!". She will truly be missed. (Ottis) Simmons of Ladson, SC; two sons, Jeffrey D. (Aisha) President of Moncks Corner, SC and Rev. Garrett J. (Tiffany) Copeland of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Horry of Moncks Corner, SC, Carolyn Williams of Philadelphia, PA and Linda (Austin, III) Dillon of Moncks Corner, SC; ten grandchildren; her father and mother-in-law, Melvin & Geneva Copeland, Sr. of Moncks Corner, SC; three aunts, Rose Lee President of Goose Creek, SC, Ann Whittington of Moncks Corner, SC and Raine Middleton of Bonneau, SC; one uncle, Jake President, Sr. of Summerville, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
