Obituary

Eddie Davis was born on January 23, 1951 in Bonneau, South Carolina, a son of the late George Davis and Lillie Mae Rogers Davis. Eddie answered God's call and entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, South Carolina. Eddie became a member of Grace Reformed Episcopal Church in his young adulthood. He was a member of the Male Choir and faithfully attended Sunday School. Eddie was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County and graduated from Berkeley Training High School in 1970. He played on the basketball team, "The Wildcats" as a guard. He became employed at Southern Cross Mattress and was later employed with Uniroyal Tire Company which later became Gates Rubber Company until his retirement in 2006. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Ida Mae Haynes on December 24, 1988. Eddie's favorite pastimes were: sports, cooking on the grill, hunting, decorating for Christmas, gardening, fishing and having family functions. He was also involved in the community as a sponsor for the "Back to School Jamboree." He loved giving to children and making things happen for them. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes. He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Willie Mae Davis and his mother-in-law, Ertha Lee Haynes. Those who will cherish his memories and miss his presence are: his beloved wife, Ida Mae Davis; his children, Lashanda Davis (Jamar Everette) of Ladson, SC and Jermaine McKelvey of Moncks Corner, SC; his granddaughter who was his pride and joy, Ne'Zjona Davis of Ladson, SC; two sisters, Barbara Hamilton and Joan Pou both of Moncks Corner, SC; three brothers, George Davis, Jr. of Moncks Corner, SC, James Davis (Helen) of St. Stephen, SC and Charles Steve Davis of Moncks Corner, SC; his father-in-law, Leroy Haynes, Sr. of Moncks Corner, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ermena Marion (William) and Susan Major (Donald) both of Moncks Corner, SC; two brothers-in-law, Richard Haynes (Elnora) of Moncks Corner, SC and Gerald Haynes of James Island, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
