Edith M. Lloyd, daughter of the late Joe and Alice Moultrie Lloyd, was born on March 1, 1926 in Cordesville, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at her residence.

Edith was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. As a young woman, she moved to New York City. In order to put herself through nursing school, Edith worked as a seamstress sewing garments to provide funeral homes with clothing for the deceased. After completing nursing school, Edith was employed as a nurse's aide at St. Clare's Hospital, New York City, NY for 50 years until she retired. She then returned back to her home on Lloyd's Hill until her passing.

Edith was an active member of Greater Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served faithfully as a: Steward, President of the Senior Choir and member of the Women's Missionary Society.

Edith was a loving, caring and family oriented person who was willing to help others.  Her family was her circle of love and strength.  She was blessed to live to see five generations.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: three children, Naymon Harleston, Jr., Hattie Flowers and husband Joel, and Dennis Lloyd; eleven grandchildren, Steven, Pamela, Mark and wife Notayah "Nicole", Stephanie, Michael and wife Shanece, Lashern "Chrissy", Matthew, Paula, Falyn and husband Tafawah "Taffy", Katraya and Tattiana; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Steve "Christopher" and wife Samantha, Justin and wife Lastasia, Maya, Mark "Markie", Tayla "Ashley", Michael "Mikey", Mirakle, Monae, Endia, Aziah, Yazmine, Zoe, Jayden, Kimora, Joelle-Jolie, Londyn, Jayda, Joziah, Kai, Isaiah and Barack; two great, great-grandchildren, Cameron and Savannah; her dog, China and Hattie's dog, Pebbles; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
