It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Elder Elouise B. Smith of Moncks Corner, SC, (Longridge community), who departed this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
The family welcomes the comfort of your presence, prayers, and kind expressions of sympathy during this time of sorrow. Friends are invited to visit daily from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the residence (Wednesday through Sunday). The family will not receive friends on Monday, December 1, 2025.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Greater Saint James A.M.E. Church, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Canaan Memorial Gardens, Summerville, SC. The repast will be at Canaan Christian Church, 1232 Queenie Road, Moncks Corner, SC.
Elder Smith leaves to cherish her memory: Minister Matthew Smith (Patricia), Elder Sheila D. Pinckney, (Elder James Pinckney, deceased), Annie M. Dozier (Dennis Keith), Evangelist Georgianne S. Edwards, Viola Green (Emuel) and brother Isaiah Burch.
Grandchildren: Saint Julian Snider (Jessica), Schkena-Juleen Snider-Jones (Rhalpheal), Sonya J. Amaker (Paul), Jovita Smith, Monique Smith, September-Joy Shelby, James Pinckney, Jr. (Delilah), DeeDe Pinckney Holly (Reverend Kenneth), DeNiya Nguyen (Farrell), Nile Dozier (Sheneikwa), Tia Marie Smith, Damon E. Smith (Shanta), and Damontre L. Smith, Timothy J. Smith Jr., Barry A. Edwards Jr., Gabriel A. Edwards, Candida V. Birch and Emuel Octavio Green.
Great Grandchildren: Saint Julian III, Sheridan Joelle, Erynn L., E'Moni D., Victoria L., Darcy S., Colette L., James Anthem, Shemah S., Hosea C., Esperanza L., Liberty B., Samuel A., Ella Elaine, Joshua Daniel, Nyla P., Jayden K., Imarri, Qaysuan, King Moultrie, Shonterria, Damon Jr., De'Moni, Gabriella Elouise De'Adre, Destiny Jones, Paul and Daja Amaker.
Special sister-in-law Ruth Stevens, daughter-in-law Gwendolyn Snider, and son-in-law, Barry A. Edwards, Sr.; Godchildren, Rosa Thomas-King and Sandy J. Smith; special friend Elder Eliza Husser Cave, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will continue to carry her legacy in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Minister Ezekiel Smith, son Esau Smith, daughter Virgie L. Snider, and son Timothy J. Smith, Sr., son-in-law Rev. Dr. Saint Julian Snider Sr.; sisters, Lillie Ann Morton and Victoria Bradley.
Please continue to lift this family in prayer as they walk through this season of sorrow, remembering always that love lives on in the lives of those touched by her presence.
