Elder Harry Louis Nelson, Jr., son of the late Mother Pearl Manigault and the late Mr. Harry Nelson, Sr., was born September 22, 1942, in Charleston, South Carolina. Harry received his education in Charleston, SC. He was employed by Courtesy Oldsmobile in Bronx, New York as a driver for 26 years. On May 17, 1973, Harry was united in holy matrimony to Annie Ruth Moore. Harry was a member of the Way Of The Cross Church in New York under the leadership of Apostle James Pitt. There, he received the gift of the Holy Ghost and served on the Deacon Board. He was called into the ministry and later chosen by God to preach the Word. He became an Ordained Elder for God's purpose. Harry, affectionately called "Fox" or "Junnie", was a quiet man who loved his family. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. On Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 3:42 p.m. in the Metropolitan Hospital, New York, Harry answered God's call, "Come Home, Come Home." He quietly slipped away in a peaceful sleep into eternal life with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories: a very, very devoted wife, Annie R. Nelson; children, stepchildren and adopted children: Lisa, Rex, Ann, Dominick, Valerie, Evelyn, Stacey (Nia), Tracey (Philip), Terry, Salina and Johnny; 29 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Dawson, Frank Gilliard both of Charleston, SC, Sarah Hott (Larry) of Salley, SC, Leola Baker of Philadelphia, PA, William Nelson of Mt.
