It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Elijah Haynes, Jr. of St. Stephen, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Mr. Haynes was well known throughout the community as a beloved car salesman whose warm personality and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A proud graduate of Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, he also shared his passion for history by teaching social studies. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves fan. In his leisure time, he found great enjoyment in fishing, golfing, and playing softball.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, Shanequia Haynes (Kelsey), Kevin Bowens (Maria), and Stephen Bowens; his siblings, Darlene Holness (David Sr.) and Emma Major; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence of his daughter. Please continue to keep the Haynes family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement.
