Elijah "Buckshot" Rivers, the son of the late Rufus and Maggie Ellington Rivers, was born September 2, 1948 in Cordesville, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was educated in the Berkeley County School System. Elijah moved to Brockton, MA, where he lived for more than forty years. There he met and married Geraldine Lopes who preceded him in death. Elijah worked in construction. Elijah gave his life to the Lord in early 2014. Elijah enjoyed football, pool and fishing. Elijah leaves to cherish his memories: one son, David Elijah Bulu; one brother, Thornley Rivers (Onethia) of Moncks Corner, SC; four sisters, Daisy B. Myers of Moncks Corner, SC, Thelma Matthews (Leon) of Brooklyn, NY, Ruth M. Speights of Tallahassee, FL, and Georgetta C. Rivers of Moncks Corner, SC; one aunt, Mabel Coaxum; two grandchildren, David Elijah II and Moriah; three special friends, Kathy Alves, Hollis Griffith and Charles McNeil; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
