Mr. Elijah Williams was born on September 18,1936 in Allendale, SC to the late Joseph Williams and Catherine Bryant Williams. He was one of eleven children who grew up in a Christian home. He transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, October 7,2024 in Moncks Corner, SC at the residence of his daughter, Apostle Dr. Beverly J. Williams who aided and provided 24 hours. caregiving. His grandson, Daquan L. Crawford aided and provided daily caregiving.
Elijah accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church. Allendale, SC. He was a member of Canaan Christian Church, Moncks Corner, SC. He later became a member of Victory Deliverance and Restoration Ministries. Moncks Corner, SC where his daughter, Apostle Dr. Beverly J. Williams is Senior Pastor. He served faithfully until his death.
Elijah received his high school education at Bonds Wilson, Charleston Heights, SC. He was a gifted and talented master skilled carpenter who traveled all over the world building professional commercial establishments including Santee Cooper in Moncks Corner, SC. He was employed at several construction companies including The Haskell Company, Daniel International Corporation, and Daniel Construction Company. In 2001, he retired from Fluor Daniels, Inc.
Elijah was an entrepreneur converting a 1950 Ford Truck into a Food Truck. He sold his specialty food menu at every baseball game and was patronized by everyone. People loved his food. He was a professional tailor and designed his own clothing line.
Elijah met the love of his life Delores Ware. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on August 9,1963 and moved to Bronx, New York. They were blessed with six wonderful children: Beverly. Charles, Barry, Sylvester, LaShawn, and Kim. Later, he moved to Brooklyn, New York and resided there for many years. After leaving Brooklyn, New York, he moved to Moncks Corner, SC where he resided until his death.
Elijah was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ware Williams of 51 years; his parents, Joseph Williams and Catherine Bryant Williams: four sisters: Martha Jones, Mary Gordon, Lubertha Williams, Helen Lewis; two brothers: Willie Daniel Williams, Moses (O C) Williams, three siblings of whom preceded him in death, and grandson, O. J. Manigo.
Elijah leaves a legacy of eight children to cherish his memories: Apostle Dr. Beverly J. Williams of Moncks Corner, SC; Charles F. Williams of Moncks Corner, SC, Barry Williams of Moncks Corner, SC. Sylvester Williams of Moncks Corner, SC, Sergeant Retired LaShawn (Imelda) Williams of El Paso, Texas; Kim M. Williams of Moncks Corner, SC; Anthony (Jinaris) Rhames of Moncks Corner, SC and Evangelist Liza Rhames Jamerson of Moncks Corner, SC; one sister, Bernice Reid of Moncks Corner. SC; grandchildren: Radashia Wilson, Daquan L. (LaSeaun) Crawford. Denisha Williams, Alexis Williams, Jaylen Gee, LaShawnelle Williams, LaShawnette Williams, and LaShawndrea Williams of Hawaii; additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, a great-great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Holiness Church, 2186 Cooper Store Road, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will take place in Westview Cemetery, 1010 Cooper Store Road, Moncks Corner, SC.
