My Life

According to Emaline White

" For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for a me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:6-8

I, Emaline Milligan White, was born on March 24, 1931, to the late Relius and Carrie Waring Milligan. I received my education through the public schools of the Berkeley County School District.

At an early age, I joined Day Dawn Baptist Church and later joined Calvary Reformed Episcopal Church where I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I remained a faithful member of the Sunday School class until I was no longer able to attend due to my illness. I served on the Pastor Aide Committee and as the church treasurer for many years.

I was united in Holy Matrimony to Paul White and with this union, we were blessed with six children.

I leave to cherish my loving memories: my husband, Paul White; my six loving and supportive children, Eugene (Mary) White, Herbert (Richardeen) White, Glennie (Marion) McClennon, Joanne (Sidney) Alston, Beverly (Francis) Blake and Paula (Barry) Heyward; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth (James) Jenkins; one brother, Andrew (Queen) Milligan; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Milligan, Emmajean Milligan, Viola Benekin and Annie White; a special sister-in-law, Laura Bell Wells; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; one adopted daughter, Lavenia Gadsden; one adopted granddaughter, Veronica Jefferson; one adopted grandson, Jason Jones; a special niece and adopted daughter, Cindy Washington; a special niece, Valerie Sumpter; three special friends, Arlene Jenkins, Annie Mae Bush and Terry Jones; and my own personal nursing aide, Annie Ruth Lampkin.
