Ernestine McFadden was born on April 7, 1929 in Cordesville, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Elizabeth and Arthur Wilkins. Ernestine departed this life on Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Hanahan, SC. Ernestine, known to many as "Tine", was educated in the Berkeley County School System. At an early age, she joined Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Cordesville, SC. Ernestine was united in matrimony on November 26, 1957 in New Haven, CT, to Robert McFadden who preceded her in death. Ernestine was employed as a caregiver for many years. She was a pleasant person who loved being with others, even when she did her most special thing, "taking a quick nap in between conversations." Ernestine had a great love for children. One of her favorite's was "Eddie". She was preceded in death by siblings: Charles Wilkins, Leon Wilkins, Isaac Lee Fludd, and Margaret Benjamin. Ernestine leaves to cherish her memories: stepmother, Barbara Hamilton of Moncks Corner, SC; brothers, Willie Fludd of Cordesville, SC and Wallace (Rosa) Fludd of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Elease Veal of New York and Pauline Fludd of Moncks Corner, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
