On May 7, 1928, Reverend John Morrison and Mrs. Addie Morrison were blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Estell. Estell was the seventh of ten children. With her father being a minister, Estell was reared in a Christian home. She never strayed away from her religious teachings. There was nothing she liked better than serving the Lord and giving comforting words to everyone. Her main focus was on the Lord. Estell was a loyal and faithful member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Jamestown, SC. She was also a Watch Care Member at Freewill Pentecostal Holiness Church, Moncks Corner, SC under Elder Joseph Reid. Estell was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Johnny Redd, on December 29, 1946. This union was blessed with five children. Mr. Redd preceded her in death on November 1, 1997. Two children, Betty and Douglas, also preceded Estell in death. Estell was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. On August 22, 2012, Estell departed this life in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Geneva of Pikesville, MD, Thomasina of North Charleston, SC, Richard of St. Stephen, SC and Catherine of Moncks Corner, SC; her siblings, Lillie M. Young, Samuel D. Morrison, and Adline Washington all of Baltimore, MD; sixteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
