Obituary

1I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. 15Precious in the sight of the LORD IS the death of His Saints. Psalm 116:1, 15 (NKJV) Evangelist Thelma Jean LaSaine Kizer Babb was born March 4, 1953, in the South Santee community of McClellanville, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Andrew LaSaine, Sr. and Elouise Mazyck LaSaine. She departed this life on June 23, 2014 in Brooklyn, New York. Thelma, affectionately known as "Lulu", received her education in the public schools of Charleston County, SC. She was a graduate of the Class of 1971 of Lincoln High School, McClellanville, SC. Shortly after graduation, Thelma moved to Brooklyn, NY, and was employed with New York Life Company, and later with Paramount. She later attended and graduated from vocational school. She then gained employment with the Brooklyn District Attorney's office as a Clerk/Secretary, where she remained until April 2014. Inspired by the Christian values instilled in her by her parents, Thelma accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, McClellanville, SC. While in New York, she became a member of Wallace Temple of Christ. Thelma was very involved in the church and served faithfully in several capacities: a Preacher, a Praise and Worship Leader, a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Wallace Temple Hospitality and Love Committee. In 1972, she married Timothy Kizer, Sr. This union was blessed with three beautiful children, Timothy Jr., Tyron and Timeka. Her husband preceded her in death. In August 2000, Thelma married Ronnie Babb. Thelma loved the Lord. her children, grandchildren, and people in general. She loved plants, a good sale, and her car "Blessing". She enjoyed baking and decorating. She was a cheerful giver, who gave gifts to make others happy. She was truly a generous person. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering faith in God. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Ronnie Babb; three children, Timothy Kizer, Jr. (Corina), Tyron Kizer (Atiya), and Timeka Kizer (Donald); four siblings, Jimmy LaSaine (Nancy), Josephine Myers, Margarette Kennedy, and Theresia Alston (Cornelius); eleven grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elder Harry Leach; sister-in-law, Desiree LaSaine; the Kizer and Babb family; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, family and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by five siblings: Andrew LaSaine Jr., Raymond LaSaine, Charlotte Leach; Henry LaSaine; and Charles LaSaine.
