Obituary

Evangelist Willie Mae Britt Morrison, daughter of the late Mr. Robert Britt and Mrs. Ida Martin Britt, was born on July 27, 1924 in Campbellton, FL. Willie Mae was the youngest of six sisters and two brothers. All of her siblings have preceded her in death. On Friday, December 5, 2008, at 5:55 a.m. at Roper-St. Francis Hospital, she took her Heavenly flight. Willie Mae was married to the late Mr. Odell Pinckney. From this union, one child was born, Ms. Pecola P. Wright. On July 10, 1950, Willie Mae married (the love of her life) Willie Morrison of Jamestown, SC. To this union, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Constance. After moving to Charleston, the family increased with a foster daughter, Willia. Mother Morrison was educated in the public schools of Campbellton, FL and Baltimore, MD. She received a degree in Cosmetology at the former Berkeley Training High School in Moncks Corner, SC. She also received a degree in education at the former Baptist College (Charleston Southern University), North Charleston, SC. In preparation for her call into the ministry, she received Theology degrees from the First Born Church of the Living God Seminary, Waycross, GA. Mother Morrison taught in the public schools of Charleston County and later taught Christian Education at New Israel Reformed Episcopal School in Charleston, SC, until she retired in 1998. Willie Mae received the Holy Ghost and became a member of Jehovah Holiness Church, Shulerville, SC, in the early 1950s under the leadership of the late Elder Theodore Anderson. She served on many auxiliaries and held leadership positions as a Youth Field Worker, Sunday School Teacher, Church Missionary President, Senior Choir and Deaconess. Mother Morrison was a mentor to many. She evangelized locally and abroad. Her foreign mission work took her to places such as London, England, Jamaica and Haiti. In 1996, Mother Morrison became a member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church of Deliverance, Charleston, CS, under the leadership of the late Apostle Calvin A. Keith. She served willingly and faithfully until her death. Left to cherish her memories: her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Deacon Willie Morrison of Charleston, SC; daughters, Ms. Pecola P. Wright of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Constance M. Nole (Otis) of Jamestown, SC and Evangelist Willia Griffin of Charleston, SC; one goddaughter, Ms. Cynthia Thurman; three special spiritual daughters, Evangelist Grythellda T.
