Evelyn Palmer Brabham, daughter of Lillian Birch Morton and Phillip Jamison, Sr., was born on February 22, 1953 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She was reared by Abraham and Rena Bryant Palmer. On December 21, 2021, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina, she transitioned into eternal life with the Lord.
Evelyn was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. She was employed at Berkeley Manufacturing and later at C. R. Bard.
Evelyn was a member of Nazareth Reformed Episcopal Church. She served with the Missionary and the Usher Board.
Evelyn was united in holy matrimony to Leroy Brabham, Jr.
Evelyn was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and especially loved her role as a grandmother and foster parent. Her hobbies included fishing, shopping, and gardening. Evelyn had a spirited personality and enjoyed making people around her laugh. She will be remembered for her kindness and love for others.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Ricky Wiggs and Siddie Wiggs Heyward.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Joseph (Robin) Palmer, Lester Palmer, Alicia Palmer (Tyrone) Gilliard and Kia Palmer (Nathaniel) Jefferson; grandchildren, Joseph Brent Palmer, Eric Logan Palmer, Kadeem Palmer, Kamal Barton and Kilesha Palmer; special grandson, Pierson Copeland; great-grandchildren, Zy-aire Pinckney and Kiercyn Mayfield; siblings, Isiah Birch, Patricia Heyward, Wiley Wiggs, Jerome (Desiree) Wiggs, Sharon (Donnie) Rivers, Phillip (Aneathia) Jamison, Genevieve Smalls and James Jamison; adopted brothers, Danny, Samuel and Charles Morton; special aunts, Elouise Smith, Deloris Limehouse and Catherine (Isaiah) Richardson; uncle, Rev. Thaddeus Palmer; long-time friend, Linda Garnett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Nazareth Reformed Episcopal Church (outside), 145 West End Drive, Moncks Corner. SC. Burial will be in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
