Sister Evelyn Harvey Broughton was born on October 13, 1944 in Havelock, North Carolina to the late Rose Harvey. She was the only child. She attended school in Craven County, NC.

Evelyn was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 20 years. She served faithfully as an usher until her health would not allow her.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Maxwell Broughton. This union was blessed with one child, Tanique. Both preceded her in death.

She is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bernette Kelly, Leroy Brown, Alvin Rollins (Raina), Frank Rollins (Debra), Levern Rollins-Haynes (Keith), Isabelle Crump, Lelia Brown and Rosetta Beckett (Charles); numerous other family members, friends and acquaintances will remember her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, 2:00 p.m., at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1837 Old Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will be in the church's cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no viewing after the service.
