I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ~ II Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) Fernetha Lorraine Heyward Baylock was born on September 8, 1950 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Vernon and Rosa Lee Heyward. She departed this life on August 17, 2014 at her residence. Fernetha, affectionately called "Fats" by family and friends, received her education in the Berkeley County public schools and was a 1968 graduate of Berkeley Training High School. She retired from the Berkeley County School District as a teacher's assistant working with special needs children. Fernetha was a member of Moncks Corner A.M.E. Church. Fernetha was united in holy matrimony to Ernest Baylock on December 15, 2007. Fernetha had a big heart and loved everyone with whom she came in contact with. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. She had a passion for caring for others. Fernetha was preceded in death by her parents; her loving daughter Donna L. Williams; one sister; and one brother. Fernetha was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Those left to treasure her precious memories are: Her Loving Husband: Ernest Baylock Her Loving and Caring Children: Tyrone L. Heyward and Dinna L. Williams who remains to carry on her legacy. Her Loving and Devoted Grandsons: TyQuon Heyward, Jaquez Williams who she reared as her own; Tyrone Heyward, Quatez, Taurez and Johoava Williams whom she loved dearly. Her Loving and Devoted Great-grandson who was the apple of her eye: Jahiem Heyward. Her Loving Sisters: Charity Gadsden, Vernell Faison (Freddie) and Margaret Tyson (Dwight). Her Loving Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Host of Friends, especially her dear lifetime friends: Emily Mack Gregg and Lorraine Benjamin; and two extended loving caregivers, Renee Reid (niece) and Connie Milligan.
