It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Fernwell Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC, beloved husband of Mrs. Ferndena W. Simmons. Mr. Simmons entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his children, Laura Dawnelle Simmons McClam and Jeffrey Fernwell Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Ferndena W. Simmons; a daughter, Michelle Weathers; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Leon Simmons (Brenda), Mary Simmons Ford (Lavone), Alma Liferidge, and Octhetis Simmons Clouden (Nimrod Anthony, Jr.) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater St. James AME Church, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Please note: There will be no viewing after the service . Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
