George Lee Bailey, son of the late Joe and Rebecca Fashion Bailey, was born on August 8, 1921, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 19, 2010, at Life Care Center, North Charleston, SC. George received his early education in Berkeley County Public Schools. After completing school, he joined the United States Army. Upon returning home, he furthered his education in electrical studies in Orangeburg, SC. He was employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until retirement after 33 years of service. He was a local barber at Fashion Barber Shop, Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC. He served on the Steward Board, Leader of Class No. 8, and President of the Senior Choir. On First Sundays you could count on him leading his favorite song, "Everybody Ought to Know Who Jesus Is". He was appointed President of Ushers Union No. 7 in the late 1940s. He traveled extensively to anniversaries and could be counted on to share his musical talent by singing a few songs in his distinguished voice. He was a member of Jehovah Lodge No. 351. He was joined in holy matrimony to Maebell Johnson on February 14, 1950. His wife and two siblings, Joe Bailey and Lorine Bailey Rivers, preceded him in death.
