The life of a faithful servant, George Friendly III, came to an end Wednesday, March 26, 2014. The son of the late George Friendly Jr. and Leola Britt Friendly was born February 4, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland. George "Sonny" lived in Shulerville, South Carolina and was a member of Jehovah Holiness Church. As a member of the church, he received special recognition at the Men and Women's Day Honoree Program in 2009, and he was awarded an Expression of Love Community Award. George was recognized for being one of the oldest members of Jehovah's new church movement at its inception many years ago. George was an avid outdoorsmen who loved fishing and hunting; and he had a collection of rifles, as well as his own private fishing pond. He also was known for his stylish and coordinated attire, especially his wide brim hats. He leaves to cherish his memory: a wife, Jacqueline Friendly; ten children: George Friendly IV, George Edward Friendly, Sebrinia Friendly, Renee Gant (Floyd), Chesley Friendly (Marjorie), Vanessa Wright (Otto), Dr. Felicia Thomas (Chris), Mickel Singleton, Donel Singleton, and Frances Gill; Jacqueline's children, Shelia Paschall and Charles Maker; one brother, Royal Thurman; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Mamie Lewis; four nephews, Kenneth Myers, Theodore Friendly, Steven Friendly and Tavon Friendly; twenty-three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
