IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Georgetta B.
Rush
July 31, 1943 – March 14, 2020
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
Ms. Georgetta Bash Rush was born July 31, 1943 to Gertrude Bash and Robert Williams; from a young age she was reared by Mr. James C. Curry. After a brief illness, she peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Hallmark Health Care Center in Summerville, South Carolina.
Georgetta was a graduate of the class of 1962 of Berkeley Training High School in Moncks Corner, SC.
At a young age she joined Wesley United Methodist Church where, for many years, she was a faithful member of the choir. The final years of her life, she was a faithful member of Christianity Holiness Church. She loved to serve and did so with a joyful heart.
She cherished moments spent with her family and friends, cooking, and outdoor activities like walking, fishing, and bicycling. She also loved to laugh - she never met a stranger.
Georgetta was preceded in death by a daughter, her mother, and biological father.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her father, James C. Curry; her children, Jerry A. Rush, Wanda M. Rush, Barbara Darlene Mathis, Barry G. (Kimberly) Rush, and Tyrone L. Marion; her siblings, JoAnn B. (Lee) Marshall, James H. (Vanessa) Curry, Gail C. (Jasper) Addison, Leon (Barbara) Curry, and Ralph Curry; eight grandchildren, Tanesha Bradford, Shatina Bradford, Courtney J. (Travis) Aiken, Christian R. Mathis, Christopher R. Mathis, Keyanna Williams, Destiny Rush, and Maya Rush; two great-grands, Kamani Miller and Rodney Rivers, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
