IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gwendolyn C.
Brown
July 11, 1960 – February 18, 2019
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15
Mother Gwendolyn C. Brown, a daughter of Berton Clemmons and Elouise Murray Governor, was born on July 11, 1960 in St. Stephen, South Carolina. On Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, Gwendolyn quietly slipped away into a peaceful sleep into eternal life with the Lord.
Gwendolyn received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County and was a 1978 graduate of St. Stephen High School.
Gwendolyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Bethel Miracle Temple of Deliverance where she served as Church Mother. She served faithfully and was very involved in the church.
Gwendolyn was united in Holy Matrimony to Leroy J. Brown in 1979. This union was blessed with four children.
Gwendolyn, also known as "Neal", loved to shop, with Wal-Mart being one of her favorite spots. She collected angels and had an eye for interior decorating. She absolutely loved family gatherings. "Neal" was an excellent cook and shared her love with others through her delicious food. Because of her love of music, Gwendolyn was currently learning to play the Hawaiian guitar. She positively impacted many lives in and around the community, and her presence will surely be missed by all who loved her. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Wilbur Governor, Berton Clemmons, Jr., Walter Clemmons and Murrell Clemmons.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are: her husband, Leroy J. Brown; four children, Quentin L. Brown, Steven R. Brown (Geneva), Laura Booze (Crist)and Michelle L.
