With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Ms. Gwendolyn Yavonne Spann of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who transitioned on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Ms. Spann was a cherished soul whose generous spirit touched all who knew her. Her unwavering love for her family and friends created bonds that will forever remain in their hearts. She found joy in simple pleasures—shopping, fashion, traveling, the delicate scents of perfume, and the lively fun of Bingo. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shakira Varner, and her mother, Joann Spann.

Ms. Spann’s memory will be lovingly treasured by her children: Shakera Varner, LaQuandra Murray, Radasha Murray (Allen), and Radesha Murray; her beloved grandson, Artist Roberts; her devoted father, Deacon Harold Spann, Sr.; and her loving siblings, Harold Spann, Jr., Bassanio Spann (Latisha), and Nidia Randolph (Christopher).

Friends and loved ones are warmly welcomed to visit the family daily at the residence until 7:00 p.m.

During this time of profound loss, the family kindly asks for your prayers and support as they find strength through the days ahead.
