Hazel B. Harrell, a daughter of the late Deacon Samuel Brown and Deaconess Rebecca J. Brown, was born on July 27, 1921 in Pinopolis, South Carolina.  Hazel departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her residence.

Hazel attended public school in Pinopolis, SC.  She was a former employee of the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC.

Hazel was a member of New Tabernacle Fourth Baptist Church, Charleston, SC.  She was a member of the Senior Choir and a faithful member of the Sunday School until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by six siblings: James Brown, Florence B. Cato, Mary G. Brown, Samuel  Wyatt Brown, Rebecca B. Greene and Nathalee B. Williams.

Those left to cherish her memories are: brothers, Deacon Christopher Brown, Deacon Richard (Dorothy) Brown, Rev. Dr. Leon G. (Beverly) Brown, Jacob (Ejurie) Brown, Isaiah Brown and Deacon Henry (Darlene) Brown; sister, Anna Bell B. Smalls; loving nieces and caregivers whom she called "daughters", Evelyn P. Brown and Yvonne D. Brown; caregiver, Syrivia Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
