Henry "Doug" LaSaine was born July 23, 1950, in the South Santee community of McClellanville, South Carolina, a son of the late Elouise and Andrew LaSaine, Sr. Henry received his education in the public schools of Charleston County and graduated from Lincoln High School, McClellanville, SC. He moved to New York City, NY, and was employed as a shipping clerk at Lady Suzanne Manufacturing Company for ten years. He was also employed at Bi-Fest Manufacturing Company for twenty-six years. Henry was a very loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was a patient person who loved to cook and fish. In his early years, staying "Cross Branch", Henry loved fishing, hunting coon and squirrels, picking juc-a-pens and 5-acre. His famous line was "if the Lord say so, that's okay by me." These are precious memories that will live in our hearts forever. Henry departed this life on December 28, 2011, in Brooklyn, NY. Henry leaves to cherish his memories two children: Cherise Davis and Aaron LaSaine both of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren, Brianne, Joshua and Jordan Davis; one great-grand, Brialla Ryles all of Brooklyn, NY; four sisters, Josephine Myers, Thelma (Ronnie) Babbs, Margarette Kennedy all of Brooklyn, NY, and Theresia (Cornelius) Alston of McClellanville, SC; two brothers, Jimmy (Nancy) LaSaine of McClellanville, SC and Charles LaSaine of Winterhaven, FL; brother-in-law, Elder Harry Leach of Brooklyn, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
