It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Henry L. Simmons, Sr. of Moncks Corner, SC, who departed this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rodella S. Simmons; and children, Iris Elaine Simmons and Fabian Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Henry L. Simmons, Jr., (Sylvia) and Evangelist Velma T. Simmons; a brother, Envie Simmons; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with a host of family members and friends who loved him deeply.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Greater St. James AME Church, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the residence from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
