IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Herman Morant
Tucker
September 19, 1941 – September 2, 2018
Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:57 ~
Mr. Herman Morant Tucker , the youngest son of Ruben Tucker, Sr. and Geneva Faison Tucker, was born September 19, 1941. He departed his earthly tabernacle and made his transition to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 76.
Herman "the Fighter" was affectionately known by many as "PeeWee." His formal education was attained through the Dorchester County Schools.
Herman accepted salvation at an earlier point in life, and he later joined Abiding Word Family Ministries to develop his spiritual walk with God. He served as an usher of the church for many years and could be counted on for the mints he lovingly handed out.
Herman had a passion and love for lawn care, getting spring water from Blackville, SC for which he shared with many, and was famous for his "Peach Tea." Herman also enjoyed bowling, for which he participated in a league.
Herman was employed at many jobs over the years but proudly retired as supervisor after fourteen years from Suburban Disposal. He later worked for Weiser Security for six years as a security officer at Dax-America. He is well known for always giving his best and being the first to arrive at work everyday.
Herman took pride in his children and grandchildren and was their greatest supporter throughout all their accomplishments.
Herman leaves to cherish fond memories: his devoted wife, Willie Mae; three children: Theresa Tucker (Vernon) of Aiken, SC, Herman, M. Tucker, Jr. (Natalie) of Woodbury, GA, and Geneva Tucker Jones (Fredrick) of Woodbury, GA, two step-children: Shawn Richardson (Jamaica) of Summerville, SC and Tiffany Richardson of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren: Gerald, Demetruis, Kimberly, Brittany, Dontavius, Harmony, and Carter; four great-grandchildren: Amari, Andre, Ava, and Mia; four sisters: Joyce Tucker (Jeff) of Newark, NJ, Rhubell Brown (John) of Birmingham, AL, Vivian McKeever and Sophfonia Harrell (Charles) both of Columbia, SC; two brothers: Howard Tucker (Marlo) and Gary Tucker both of Summerville, SC; five adopted sisters: Carrie Boone of Sumpter, SC, Almeta Davis of Laurel, MD, Carolyn Abrams, Charlotte Davis and Margaret Harris of Sumpter, SC; two sisters-in-law: JoAnn Johnson of NY and Hermie Brown of Moncks Corner, SC; two brothers-in-law: Willie James Hill (Gale) of Charleston, SC and Thomas Grant (Mary) of Jamestown, SC; a special uncle and aunt, Harvey Temple of Summerville, SC and Deloris Barnwell of Orlando, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
