With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Mrs. Hilda S. Gourdine of St. Stephen, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Mrs. Gourdine was the widow of Mr. William Gourdine.

Mrs. Gourdine had a deep love for music. She found joy in singing and was especially passionate about teaching music, sharing her gift and inspiring others through song. Her gentle spirit, love for family, and melodious voice will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, William Renard Gourdine, Nicholas Todd Gourdine, and Wendell Quincy Gourdine; grandchildren, Quintin Lewis, Brandi Wilson (Jimmy), and Tiana Gourdine; great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean C. Snipe, Verneida S. Cooper, Emma S. Butler (Henry), and Alexander Snipe, Jr. (Mary); along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, 1:00 p.m., at Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, 2173 Highway 45, Pineville, SC. Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC.
