Homer Antonio Swinton, affectionately known as "Tug", was born on February 6, 1985 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the son of Homer Montgomery and Vernell Swinton. On Wednesday, April 13, 2022,  he departed this life at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC and became a member of the Lord's Heavenly Flower Garden.

Homer was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. He attended Bonner Elementary School, Macedonia Middle School, and was a member of Timberland High School Class of 2003.

"Tug" enjoyed car audios, social media and working on cars. He was employed by Joe's Quick Mart.

"Tug" will be missed  by his family, friends and community. He was preceded in death by his mother Vernell Swinton.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Janiyah Nykeysha, Jazzmyn Le'Shae and Taliah Nicole Swinton of St. Stephen, SC;  son, Jace Messiah Brown of Charleston, SC; his father, Homer Montgomery of St. Stephen, SC; brothers, Clifton Jermaine (Juanita) Swinton of St. Stephen, SC, Marquez "MJ" Swinton of Summerville, SC, Willie Montgomery and Dexter Montgomery; sisters, Letefa Montgomery, Skai'lynn Montgomery and Skai'la Montgomery; special friend, Katerria Brown of Summerville, SC; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home (Moncks Corner). Graveside Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church, 2898 North Highway 52, Bonneau, SC.
