Obituary

Idella Simpson Harleston was born on April 27, 1956 in Pahokee, Florida to Harriett Whitmire. She was raised by Gilbert and Elise Simpson. They all preceded her in death.

Idella was united in holy matrimony to Isreal Harleston. This union was blessed with three children.

Idella was the epitome of strength. She had love for her family and others, but most importantly, the Lord. Idella loved fishing and working hard to provide for her family. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, she entered into eternal rest with the Lord.

Idella leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Isreal Harleston; her children, Christopher Knight (Christy) of White House, TN, Vanee' Joiner (Justin) of Tacoma, WA and Kimberly Harleston (Jerome) of Moncks Corner, SC; siblings, Alberta Gadsden (Melvin), Hugh Whitmire Jr., and Betty Gadsden (Robert); eighteen grandchildren and  one great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Deloris Harleston, Marylee Reid (Elder Joseph) and Hattie Flowers (Joel); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Idella was preceded in death by siblings: Joanne Green, Arthur McNeil, Coreather Ann Johnson and Wanda Perry.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 9, 2019, 1:00 p.m., at Berkeley Church of Christ, 1483 New Highway 52 South, Moncks Corner, SC. Viewing will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the funeral home.
