She later retired from IBM after many years of dedicated service. After retiring, she relocated back to Cross to care for her mother. She joined Jehovah AME Church where she served on the Senior Choir, taught Sunday School and shared her love of music by singing with her sisters, Earmean, Evelyn, Francine and Janada.
Inez was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Zachariah Hardy in 1957. This union was blessed with a daughter, Toinette Hardy-Grisom who was born in Brooklyn, NY. Inez was a lover for Christ. She enjoyed singing, reading the bible and talking about the goodness of Jesus. She was also an avid prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Murphy and Munroe Murphy, sisters, Evelyn Murphy, Stovall Easley and Earmean Murphy Womack.
