Obituary

On Monday, July 3, 2017 at 5:58 PM , God looked out on the battlefield and saw a soldier who had labored hard and called her home to eternal rest.

Mrs. Inez Lampkin Snider was born on Wednesday, December 25, 1940. She was the third child of thirteen, which included two sets of twins, to the late Mr. Charlie Lampkin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Laurine Kinlaw Lampkin. This Christmas gift was born in the community of Alvin, South Carolina.

"Nez", as she was affectionately called by her friends and loved ones attended the Laurel Hill School in Alvin, SC and later received her high school diploma from Russellville High School. She was a part of the graduating class of 1959.

Inez worked in several places of operation namely Wometco in Charleston, SC, Santee River Wool Combing Plant in Jamestown, SC where she retired from in 1996, and Anglers in Jamestown, SC. After graduating high school, Inez lived in Long Island, New York and Baltimore, Maryland for a while and found employment. Inez also substituted and volunteered for teachers at Jamestown Elementary School.

Inez grew up in a Christian home and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church of Alvin, SC at an early age. She was baptized under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend Willie J. Manigault. She actively participated in Sunday School and served as a delegate during the Antioch Missionary Baptist Association's Sunday School Convention.

On July 3, 1965, Inez was united in marriage to Reverend Robert "Bob" Snider, Jr. by the Reverend W.H. Manigault. Together they were the parents of three children.

After Inez's marriage to Bob, she became an active member of Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend David S. Scott. At Wesley, she served on the Junior Choir and later the Senior Choir. She enjoyed leading the songs, "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "I Prayed and I Prayed Until I Found the Lord". She also enjoyed leading "Thank You Lord for One More Day". Inez was a part of the Trustee Board during the time the new edifice was being built and for some years afterwards. She was a member of the Lucinda R. Snider Women's Missionary Society and served as the Worship Leader. As a Junior Missionary, she served as the Treasurer. Additionally, she was crowned Mother of the Year on Mother's Day 2015. Inez was an active part of the Wednesday Morning Prayer Team from its inception. She attended faithfully before her illness prevented her from attending regularly.

Inez's husband, Reverend Robert "Bob" Snider, Jr.; her parents; and a brother, Carl "Sonny Boy" Lampkin preceded her in death.
