Isaac Richardson was born on April 4, 1934, in Charleston, SC, to Obie Richardson and Nancy Ravenel Richardson. On Monday, March 25, 2024, our beloved Isaac transitioned to eternal rest.
Isaac received his education in the public schools of Berkeley County. At an early age, he became a member of Greater St. James AME Church. He moved to New York and resided there for a few years. However, he returned home and married Catherine Jamison in 1955. This union was blessed with two beautiful daughters. After marriage, Isaac moved back to Brooklyn, NY. He worked for Randy Lee Construction Company for several years and later moved to Staten Island, NY.
He came back home and was employed with Berkeley County Sanitation until he retired.
Isaac was loved by all who knew him. He was a quiet man who enjoyed building things, planting his garden and fishing.
Isaac was preceded in death by: his parents, Obie and Nancy Richardson; two brothers, Freddie Richardson and Edward Wiggins; two sisters, Dora Brown and Peggy Wiggins; and one daughter, Sylvia Jean Morton.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Isaac's life are: his loving wife of 69 years, Catherine Jamison Richardson of Summerville, SC; one daughter, Terry (Charles) Bowman of Summerville, SC; son-in-law, Roscoe Morton of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Jessie Bonaparte of North Carolina; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Greater St. James AME Church, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. Burial will be in the church's cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, March 29, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. There will be no viewing after the service.
