Obituary

"May The Work I've Done and The Service I Gave Speak For Me"

Once again, God in His Divine wisdom, dispatched His angel to the Skinner residence early Friday morning, April 27, 2018, and called his beloved servant Isaac home.

Isaac Skinner, the son of the late Brister and Mary Moorer Skinner, was born on August 27, 1925 in Charleston, South Carolina.

He attended the public schools of Charleston County.

Isaac served his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Navy and receiving an Honorable Discharge. After returning home, he worked for the Miami Dade County Sanitation Department for many years until he retired.

Isaac was first married to Leona Griffith Skinner, who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with nine beautiful children. Isaac and Lillie Mae Thomas Skinner were joined in Holy Matrimony on June 10, 1981. She also preceded him in death.

The Skinners returned home in the early 1980s and joined and became loving and faithful members of Canaan Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Brother Skinner sang on the Male Choir and sometimes he sang all by himself. He was a member of the Disciple Men, Senior Ministry and was named Father of the Church.

Isaac was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Blanche, Brister, Charles, Rebecca, Mary, Ozell and John Albert.

Those left to share his fond memories are: his four loving and devoted children, Mollie Skinner of the home, Minister Hazel (Michael) Brazzel and Minister Herman (Mikki) Skinner both of Atlanta, GA and Minister Bernard Skinner of Chicago, IL; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren; one sister, Leola Duberry; one adopted son, Elder Ernest Smith of Moncks Corner, SC; two adopted daughters, Gertie Mae Smith and Trennie Bell Stevens both of Moncks Corner, SC; one adopted granddaughter, Jessica Pringle; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
