Isaac Smalls was born September 7, 1948, in Pineville, SC, a son of the late Lewis and Emma Judge Smalls. Isaac attended the public schools of Berkeley County, SC before relocating to Albany, NY, to be closer to his older siblings.
Isaac found employment as a Machinist with General Electric of Schenectady, NY, in 1972. He worked there for 23 years until he retired in 1995 due to medical issues.
Isaac attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church and became a member on April 2, 2006. He attended services regularly until his illness forced him to rest.
Isaac loved his family in Albany and in South Carolina. When he found time to travel, he would visit the family he loved dearly in the South as much as possible. Some of Isaac's favorite hobbies were: hunting, fishing, watching football or his favorite wrestling, and spending as much time with his three granddaughters as possible.
Isaac was known to many by different names: Ike, Bubba, Chris or Zeek. Isaac had a special saying that has followed him for a very long time, "Ask me no question, I'll tell you no lies!"
Isaac leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, LaToya N. Brown of Albany, NY; three granddaughters, Dreme, Queen Maliyah and Kaliani; brothers, Christopher (Theresa) of Pineville, SC, Clarence (Dorothy) of Albany, NY and Henry (Cynthia) of Pineville, SC; his twin sister, Rebecca Smalls Bryant of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Isaac in death were his sisters, Beatrice Smalls Parson and Annie Mae Smalls; and a special niece, Jacqueline Smalls Fisher.
