Obituary

A Life Changed...Not Taken Away Jabari Hasheem Fludd, loving son of Valerie Renee Fludd and Emmanuel Hancock, was born December 4, 1977 in New York, NY. Since birth, Jabari attended The First Church of God in Christ, Brooklyn, NY, and later became a member of Pilgrim Church where he attended Pilgrim Christian Academy, Brooklyn, NY, in addition to the New York City Public School System, during his elementary school years prior to relocating to South Carolina with his grandparents. However, it was at Pilgrim Church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was filled and baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jabari relocated to Cordesville, SC, with his grandparents January of 1988, and became a member of the Truth Tabernacle Church, where he served on the Youth Usher Board, and sang on Youth For Truth and Truth Tabernacle Choirs. During this time in his life he attended the Berkeley County School System, graduating from Berkeley High School in 1994. He was enthusiastic about playing football during his high school years, and was instrumental in helping his team win the State Championship game in 1994. Jabari attended South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC, and later transferred to Trident Technical College, North Charleston, SC, where he received at that time, the highest score in the schools' history, obtaining a certificate of accomplishment as a Computer Technician. Jabari later relocated to Newport News, Virginia and then back to New York City where he was last employed with a newspaper company in Patchogue, NY, known as the "Schedule Express." Overall, Jabari was free-spirited and fun-loving; enjoying time with his friends, playing a good game of football, singing, or just joking around. Those left to cherish Jabari's loving memories are: his devoted friend, Shadina Richardson; his loving mother, Valerie Renee Fludd and his father Emanuel Hancock; an adoring sisters, Janeice D. Fludd and Taneisha Hancock-McGarrell; brothers, Marquise Hancock and Isiah Hancock; his dedicated grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Fludd, Cordesville, SC, and Mrs. Virginia Hancock, Bronx, NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom share the grief caused by his departure. Jabari's favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Although Jabari is absent from the body, we all rejoice that he is present with the Lord!
