Obituary

Jacob L. Brown Jr., affectionately known as JJ, was born on August 28, 1986 in Charleston, South Carolina to Jacob and Ejurie Brown. JJ was the youngest of five children. He joined Moncks Corner Baptist Church at an early age. While there he was an active member of the Brotherhood Track team, MCBC Youth Choir, and Anointed Mime with a Purpose. He later fellowshipped with Bread of Life Deliverence Ministries (BOLD) where he enjoyed the teachings of Apostle Norman Armstrong. JJ was educated in the Berkeley County School System. He later received his diploma from Christian Kingdom Academy, Inc. After graduating, JJ was employed by Atlas Moving Company and ABC Construction. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. JJ was a fun, loving, free spirited person. He loved children; he loved people, and brought life to every room he entered. If he was unknown when he walked in, he would be known by the time he walked out. JJ loved to ride motorcycles, bowl, care for his dogs, and hang with his friends. He took them all in as his family and treated them as such by calling them his brothers and sisters. JJ knew that the Father had many mansions that had been already prepared for him at this time, and in this season. In his short time he has left a lasting impression on everyone he has encountered. The memories of his laughter, jokes, hugs, and smiles will always be with us. JJ transitioned into eternal life on April 8, 2014 at his residence. JJ leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Jacob and Ejurie Brown of Moncks Corner, SC; three sisters, Lori (Tyrone) Chatman of Summerville, SC, Selinda (Andre) Simmons of Portsmouth, VA, and Brenda Brown of Summerville, SC; one brother, Calvin (Rosa) Simmons of San Diego, CA; his grandmother, Lillie Mae Jenkins of Moncks Corner, SC; four nephews, Alfonzo Mason, Christopher Mason, Antonio Smalls all of Summerville, SC, and Sora Simmons of San Diego, CA; three nieces, Yaraiza Garcia, Irene Zamora, and Kanon Simmons all of San Diego, CA; one grandniece, Caelynn Mason of Goose Creek, SC; his special friends, Lynette Thaxton, Tamika Brown, and Sherese Bell; children whom he helped care for, Kaden and Kenadi; a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins; and a multitude of friends. ******************************************************************************* To access our full website, smartphone and mobile users, please scroll down and choose 'STANDARD VERSION'.
