Jacqueline Smalls

November 9, 1949 – October 8, 2016
Jacqueline "Queen" Smalls Richmond was born November 9, 1949 in Berkeley County, South Carolina, a daughter of Daniel and Florine Smalls. She transitioned to eternal rest October 8, 2016 in Conway, South Carolina.
"Jacque", as she was also known, was educated in the Berkeley County School System and was a 1968 graduate of Russellville High School. She attended Baptist College at Charleston and earned an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Trident Technical College.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Jamestown, South Carolina. Queen later transferred her membership to Greater Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Cordesville, South Carolina, where she actively participated in multiple auxiliaries, including the Junior Usher Board, Gospel Choir, Women's Missionary Society, Young People's Division (YPD) and Stewardess Board.
On July 3, 1971, Jacqueline was joined in Holy matrimony to Joel Warren Richmond, III, of Cordesville, South Carolina. This union was blessed with three children. Their son, Joel Patrick Richmond, preceded her in death.

She was a dutiful member of Alpha Pi Chi Sorority, Inc., president of the Whittaker Family Reunion, Vice President of Russellville High School Class of 1968 and an avid member of the Morning Glory Bowling League.
"Queen" loved children and committed her life to bettering their lives. After working for more than 20 years at the Department of Social Services, she taught school, tutored, hosted summer camps for children and served as a Girl Scout leader. She loved baking, drawing, knitting, bowling, gardening, arts and crafts, butterflies, her family and most of all, God.
