James Bryan, affectionately known as "J.B.", the loving son of Ray Rivers and the late Inez Bryan Reid, was born November 22, 1946 in the Lawrenceville Section of Berkeley County, South Carolina where he was reared. He departed this life on Monday, August 17, 2009 at approximately 4:19 p.m. in Charleston, South Carolina. "J.B." attended the public schools of Berkeley County, South Carolina and at an early age attended St. John Baptist Church. He was employed by Mixon Construction Company and Gethers Funeral Home for many years. "J.B." was a caring and loving person who was always willing to give a helping hand. When he was around, he would brighten anyone's day with his smile. "J.B." will truly be missed by those whose lives he touched most. He leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Ray Rivers, Moncks Corner, SC; two sisters Thelma O'Blines (Joseph), Lithonia, GA and Yvette Reid (Pearson), Long Island, NY; two uncles/brothers: Joseph Bryan, North Charleston, SC and Solomon Bryan (Mary), Moncks Corner, SC; three aunts/sisters: Nancy Manigault (Rev. David) and Sarah Fludd (Luther) Moncks Corner, SC and Nettie Bryan, Bronx, NY; a special first cousin Geneva Counts, Moncks Corner, SC; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends who will also miss him dearly.
