The Hawkins family announces with great sadness the loss of Mr. James L. Hawkins, Sr., 73, who passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence in McCormick, SC.  Mr. Hawkins was born May 19, 1946 in Jamestown, SC, a son of the late Nicholas Peter Hawkins and Lillian Grant Hawkins. He was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Burial, with military honors, will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, 12:00 p.m., at the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC.

Survivors include his children: James Hawkins, Jr., Kevin Hawkins and Juliet Ryan Hawkins; his sisters, Vivian Hawkins, Ora Carol (Joe) Lawrence and Gwendolyn J. Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
