James Calvin McFadden was born on November 18, 1968, in Charleston, SC. He was a son of Virginia McFadden and Robert Marion. Calvin, at the age of four, moved to Boston, MA with his mother and brothers. He grew up as a happy, cheerful, playful and loving child. Calvin loved sports. He especially loved playing basketball. He attended Roxbury High School and completed the eleventh grade. He became employed with a catering company in order to help support his family. Calvin became a member of the Deliverance Church of the Living God in Dorchester, MA under the leadership of Pastor Hamby. Calvin's biggest love was his love for his family. He was very special to his family. On Tuesday, January 21, 2009, God called him home to glory. He is gone, but yet he lives in his family. Those left to cherish Calvin's love and memories are: his mother, Virginia McFadden; father, Robert Marion; wife, Gloria C. Hill; children, Alex T. Hill, Dijon P. Hill, Antoinette C. McFadden-Hill, Shaunette C. McFadden-Hill and Sharmaine Y. Jones; brothers, Thaddeus Gethers, Harry McFadden, Christopher McFadden, Tyrone McFadden, Kamathene McFadden, Jerniono McFadden and Anthony McFadden; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Calvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine H. Hill.
