Obituary

James Myers was born March 31, 1946 in Strawberry, South Carolina. He was the son of Isiah Myers, Sr. and Evelina Myers whom preceded him in death.

James received his education in the Charleston County Public Schools. He employed with the International Longshoreman's Association (ILA) from where he retired. He was a dedicated and hard worker.

He was married to Gwyndolyn Myers who preceded him in death.

James was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed riding his motorcycle.  He participated in several motorcycle clubs. James also enjoyed caring for his lawn, keeping it very well maintained.

James departed this life on March 15, 2023 at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving children, Avonne Myers-Foote (Avon), Tonya Myers, Tiawanna Williams, Jervay Myers, Quintwan Myers (Kelsey);  siblings, Isaiah Mike Myers, Jr., Frances Mitchell, Thomas Myers, Henry Myers, Freddie Myers (Flo) and Pastor Hazel M. Morgan. James also leaves a very special friend, Quinteria Frasier; a host of grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at O. Allen Gethers Jr. Memorial Chapel, Gethers Funeral Home, Inc., 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, 3044 Old Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING.
