Mr. James Buster Spann, lovingly known as "JB", was born September 23, 1933 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.  He was a son of the late Victoria Spann and Walter D. Smalls. He departed this life on January 1, 2017 at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Moncks Corner, SC.

JB received his education in the Berkeley County schools.  He lived in Brooklyn, NY for more than 50 years and held various job positions. He retired from B & O Tire Company in Brooklyn NY, and returned to Moncks Corner, SC in the summer of 2000.  JB joined Rock Hill Baptist Church on May 25, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Ms. Frances Bullock; four brothers and three sisters.

JB leaves to mourn: two sons, Christopher Bullock of Summerville, SC and James Bullock of New Hampshire; stepdaughter, Lisa Atherley of Brooklyn, NY; several grandchildren; his sisters, Alma Burden, with whom he resided,  Edna Middleton of Cross, SC, Lucille Brown and Justine Smalls of New Jersey; a very special nephew, Kenneth (Scampy) Palmer of New Jersey; a special friend, Albertha Ferguson of Moncks Corner SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.

His favorite mantra was "Better than Good". May his soul rest in peace and may his sins be forgiven.
