Janie Lee Nelson Wright was born on April 21, 1930 in Moncks Corner, SC. She was a daughter of the late Dan and Hattie Nelson.

Janie received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She was a caregiver for many years.

In the late 1940s, Janie was united in holy matrimony to Richard Wright. She was the mother of five children.

Janie was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she attended faithfully.

Janie enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and planting flowers. She loved listening to music on her turntable that she had since she was twelve years old.

Janie departed this earthly life early on Tuesday morning, September 24, 2019 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; three sisters, Rosa, Lee, and Margaret; four brothers, Frank, Joe, Leroy and William; one son, Arthur Nelson, Sr.; and one great-grandson, Roland.

Janie leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Geraldine Conner of Moncks Corner, SC and Delores Laurie of Charleston, SC; two sons, Samuel (Shelia) Wright and Ben (Glenda) Wright of Goose Creek, SC; 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bertha Lee Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will be in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.  Viewing will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
