Mrs. Jerrie Lease Samuel was born on August 15, 1938, in Moncks Corner, SC, daughter of the late Mr. Edward Limehouse and Mrs. Sarah Jettie Richardson Limehouse. She departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018, in Moncks Corner, SC.
Jerrie received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley Training High School in 1959 with a concentration in cosmetology. She was employed by Wamacco Food Service at C.R. Bard until she retired. She also worked part-time at TC Academy until her death.
Jerrie was married to the late Mr. Joe Lewis Weiters. This union was blessed with five children, one son, Willie Joe Weiters, preceded her in death. In August 1975, Jerrie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Willie J. Samuel. She became the stepmother of four lovely daughters.
At an early age, Jerrie became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Later in her Christian journey, she joined other churches, including Bethel Deliverance Church, before becoming a member of Freewill Family Ministry in Moncks Corner where she worshiped and served faithfully until her death. She served in various capacities at Freewill, including: Usher, Missionary, Deaconess, Choir and Mother Board.
"Lease" was a very humble, sweet and kind hearted woman. She had a heart for God whom she served faithfully and passionately. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and church family. Sweet potato dishes including pies were her specialty.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Herman (Shelvia) Limehouse of Greenville, SC, Gary (Maxine) Weiters, Bonnie (Leon) Simmons, Warren (Sandy) Weiters all of Moncks Corner, SC, Willie Mae (James) Wright of Pineville, SC and Virginia Samuel of Darlington, SC; 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Clarence Limehouse of Manhattan, NY, Hennie Jackson of Moncks Corner, SC, Monica (Christopher) McKinley of Columbia, SC, Margaret A. Limehouse and Shirley Limehouse, Moncks Corner, SC; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Limehouse, Betty M. Robinson, Lucy (Arthur) Williams, Barbara A. Samuel, Dirinda Weiters, Doris Bradham and Mae A. Green; brothers-in-law, Robert Brown, Raymond Samuel, Kenneth Samuel, Frank Weiters, Bobbie Weiters, John H. Weiters and Lock Weiters; special aunt, Beauty Richardson; special friends, Mary Reid, Lou Poinsette and Susan Gregg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jerrie was preceded death by her grandsons, Cordero and Marquis Weiters; brothers, Sidney, Robert and Leon Limehouse. Her husband, Willie James, passed away shortly after Jerrie's demise.
