Jessie Saxon (Sonny) was born to the late Lina Saxon and Jessie Frost February 22, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York.
Jessie was educated in the Philadelphia and New York School systems. He graduated from high school and immediately joined the United States Army where he excelled and proudly became an Army Air-Borne Ranger. He retired as a Computer System Analyst with the Federal Government.
While in the service, he met and married the love of his life Mary. To this union three children were born: Jessie Saxon Jr. (Belinda), Tanya Saxon (deceased), and Rebecca Saxon.
At an early age he accepted Christ in the Church of God and Christ. Later he became a member of the Dale City Christian Church where he was an active member.
Left to mourn is his devoted wife Mary; son Jessie Jr. (Belinda); daughter Rebecca; five grandchildren: Marcell, Allena, Jessica and twins Noah and Noelle; in-laws, Geraldine (Glenn) and Frances; a very dear friend James (Brenda); three nieces, Bethlynn, Debbie and Audrey Ann; and a host of cousins.
Jessie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Viewing will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home (Moncks Corner). Face masks are required. Graveside service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1245 Forty One Road, St. Stephen, SC.
There is no visitation at the family's residence due to the COVID pandemic. They are grateful for your prayers and understanding during this difficult time.
