John Hezekiah Jenkins, son of the late Lawrence and Nellie Wiggins Jenkins, was born on June 27, 1935 in Pineville, SC. He departed his mortal life on December 31, 2010. John was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. He was employed in New Jersey until his move back home to South Carolina. Upon returning home, he found work as a truck driver for Star Redi Mix and remained with that company for several years. John joined the Day Dawn Baptist Church at an early age. He later moved to Jersey City, NJ where he lived for many years. John was joined in holy matrimony to the late Luella Austin Jenkins. This union was blessed with seven children, four of whom preceded him in death. After a period of time, John moved from New Jersey back to Pineville, SC where he remained until his death. John leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Mary Ann Jenkins Williamson of the home, Joann Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, Shawn Nigel Jenkins and Gerald (Carmen) Clinton all of Jersey City, NJ, Jermaine Hezekiah Jenkins of Alexandria, VA and Larry (Judy) Johnson of St. Stephen, SC; two sisters, Mary Lee Casey and Bertha Lee Williams; one brother, St. Julian (Catherline) Jenkins all of Pineville, SC; twenty-four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; special friends, Charles Smith, Kerry Mitchell and Maranda Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
